Pick 15 minutes, any 15 minutes. Turn up your favorite music. Pick out one area or corner or spot in your room to clean up for 15 minutes. Straighten it up, dance to the music & then stop & move on. Do this every day. Pretty soon you'll have the whole room cleaned up. After it's cleaned up, take pride in all your efforts & know that you did a great job. Keep it clean by keeping stuff put away & doing a 15 min quick pick up every day!

Oh twin brother, I ahve twin little borthers, one cleans constantly while the other jsut dirties the room up so bad. Unless your brother shares the same motivation it wil most likely be tough. But try reorganizing your furniture, get in the habbit of hanging your clothes, get a dirty clothes hamper, and a trash can, and cant hurt to add some shelves

First off, I applaud your mother for "making" you do this, as it will teach you valuable lessons, that later on in life you will need to keep your own house clean.
First, pick up the large items. Place them where they belong. Then, gather up the dirty clothes. Sort them by either color or whites and put them in the appropriate hamper for washing.
Now, go back in your room and pick up anything off the floor, that isnt supposed to be there, like CD cases, with out the CDs because they are lost some place, or misplaced or on the shelf, rubbing together and getting scratched! Put all CDs in the proper covers.
Put them away now.
locate all empty containers of food, and put in the appropriate receptacle that "isnt" in your room! (You dont want to attract bugs in your room, like ants or other vermins).
Take all dishes out, and put them on the counter in the kitchen or in the dishwasher to be washed.
Now, MAKE THE BED!!! A clean room, with out the bed made, is not a "tidy room", and it doesnt appear clean to your Mother! BOTH of you make your beds!
If you continue to pick up after yourselves, and not toss things under your beds, then you will have a very fast clean job, when it comes time to do the room again.
But, like most teens, you "loathe" to clean and pick up after yourselves, thinking that MOM will do it, every time....
Well, kiddies, its time to grow up, and get some responsibility now. Pretty soon your going to have your dorm room to contend with, and then, maybe your own apartment, or house to keep clean...
And, when Mom and Dad come a calling, THEY will expect your house to be CLEAN!!! (So will your "significant other", also!!
I wish you well..
Jesse

keep up with the room. Just basically keep it clean everyday. Pick up things off the floor, make the bed, take out any trash. Just keep it clean :)
