Soak in a warm bath with Epsom salt. Epsom salt is awesome. My grandmother and my great aunts have always recommended it and I know why, it truly works. Good luck.

I'm thinking you meant EPISIOTOMY? Since it's a humid part of your body my doctor suggested I get a lamp and take off the shade and place it near (NOT ON) in between your legs to dry that area. I know it sounds weird but it helps the healing process. Also try horse tail tea and rinse or put cotton swabs directly on there. It's awesome for healing cuts AND terminating infections! If you didn't mean episiotomy (the cut before the baby comes out) then I have no idea what you're talking about. Good luck!

Do not add anything- the water is healing enough, and don't sit in it for longer than 30 minutes b/c it will hinder your healing time. Use a peri bottle after u use the bathroom and it will keep that area clean, pat dry. If you have pain or itching use Dermaplast spray - it works like a charm!! Good Luck and Congrats!

Let me just say that a sitz bath is the best. After I had my son and he ripped me from one end to another(literialy) I used one and I am here to tell you that it felt better then sex. I just used warm water. Another thing you can try is dermablast. It is a spray on antiseptic that I was given after my son and it works like gangbusters

My gynecologist recommended 2 to 3 baths in the tub a day, washing the area with soap and water. Then dry the area and put some tripe antibacterial ointment. It worked for me.

Oh no!

Do NOT add anything!

You could get an infection.

If sits bath isn't helping, do it more often. Try not to sit for long periods. Take lots of rest.

Are you using tucks pads with mostuiriser? Put the Tucks directly on your pads with the mostuiriser. Also, try cold compresses/ice pack in the mean time.

If really bad - call your doctor. The nurses have good suggestions or can get you pain meds.

I tore in 4 places pushing my son out...
It will get better...
Good luck!

Ask your doc about epsom salt. That is a really great product, but I'm not sure about using it for episiotomy. I had one, but didn't use the bath. I used the tucks and the nurse gave me this cocaine cream. That's right. Creamed cocaine...go figure. After one dose of that, I was fine and didn't have any more problems. Ask about it.
