A lot of rap videos portray women as objects only their to suit the needs of men!!! Its extremely insulting because the women in the videos are usually models or professional dancers or some other kind of skinny, dressed like they were skanks, as if real women are like that! Then when girls see this they feel as if though that is how they have to look like to be accepted in todays society. The rap videos more often than not exploit women, cause women to have psychological problems concerning body image, and its just downright disgusting how these rap "singers" (and i use that term lightly) make it seem alright for women to dress and act in a certain way just so chauvinistic and sexist men can ogle them.

All rap songs are not degrading but the majority especially the ones made and played on the radio today are. I love hip hop/rap and always will but there is alot of crap I don't listen to. I don't even turn on the radio anymore because 90% of the music played is bullshit. Alot of these so called rappers are giving rap a bad name. As far as most rap fans are concerned, rap is dead.

Are you serious? You can't figure that out on your own? Here's some examples if you can't:
Eazy-E, "Boyz 'n' the Hood" - "Dumb ho says something that made me mad/She said somethin that I couldn't believe/So I grabbed the stupid b**** by her nappy a** weave/She started talkin s***, wouldn't you know?/Reached back like a pimp and slapped the ho"
Jay-Z "Big Pimpin'" - You know I - thug em, f*** em, love em, leave em/Cause I don't f***in need em/Take em out the hood, keep em lookin good/But I don't f***in feed em
First time they fuss I'm breezin/Talkin bout, "What's the reasons?"/I'm a pimp in every sense of the word, b****
Better trust than believe em/In the cut where I keep em
til I need a nut, til I need to beat the guts"
Unless you consider being beaten up, being used, and being treated like an object (rather than a human being), a complement, then you should agree that these songs are insulting to women.

Yes, most of them, in fact. The objectify women in demeaning ways. If watch a rap 'music' video, you'll notice that nearly all of them have skinny women with large breasts touching them or hanging all over them. In many of the 'songs', the lyrics are more like a form of verbal pornography.

what about the women singers who say men are nothing but bot toys. rappers say what they know and where most of them are from (ie. the ghetto) women act like the rap songs. even now there are what they call rap video hoes whos main objective is to sleep with a rapper. no one told you to listen to their music. if it is that offensive just turn it off. besides you shouldnt be offended if you know you are better than that. and most guys treat girls like the way they are dressed. if you do not want to be treated like a hoe then dont dress like one.

Some rap songs are indeed insulting to women any time that the lyrics say things like, "I would like to have gratuitous sex with you and then slap you upside your head, call you filthy dirty names, and then find another woman and do the same thing again."
Women do not deserve to be treated that way or talked about that way.

Many raps & videos are insulting to us decent women. Unfortunately, many males of all ages, try to treat decent women as "hoochies", etc., but have problems w/ the many of us who refuse to accept this disrespectful treatment. Sadly, respectful raps & videos don't get the equal air play that they should. I'm tired of it!

no, stop taking rap songs so literally. Rap isnt bad it has a catchy tune and great lyrics. If you are insulted you obviously do not support freedom and are a woman, If you do not support freedom you are anti-america. Why do you all hate america?

I think that if you are a real woman you shouldn't care what some song says about you. I think that people have a right to express themselves how they want to even if it may disturb others or groups of people. I don't think that if you feel dissed in a song that should listen to it. Just change the station or throw the cd out, don't let it bother you....â¥
