the rythm method involves not having sex for about one week a month, you must have regular periods for it to work.
look at your calender, mark the day you will start your period with a star, count 14 back and cross that day off (its the day you ovulate) cross off the 5 days in front of it and the 2 days after. do not have sex without protection on those days.
again this only works if you know without a doubt that you will get your period on the day of the star...
it is more effective when charting basil body temp and cervical mucus with the calender method, you should also be prepared to use emergency contraception if you need to

Pulling out does no longer avoid being pregnant and the folk above want to entice close that! Sperm are modern-day, and would reason being pregnant, once penetration takes position. birth control pills: very functional. those will be taken each day for safe practices. Or if there has been an incident wherein a condom breaks or is by twist of destiny no longer used, and the female isn't on birth control, being pregnant can in many circumstances be *prevented* by utilizing taking emergency birth control interior 3 days. a great number of known birth control pills would nicely be utilized in extreme doses as adverse to emergency birth control.

There is always a risk of pregnancy whether you have sex before, during or after menstruation. Pulling out does not work in preventing pregnancies either - there are sperms in precum as well. Younger women have great risk than older women of course.
It is also not necessarily true that you get pregnant the minute after sex. It takes up to 72 hours for the sperm to go through the cervix, up the fallopian tube, penetrate the egg, etc. To prevent pregnancy after sex, you have to take plan B or the emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hours. The emergency contraceptive pill is not an abortion pill, it just prevents implantation of the fertilized egg, so if you are already pregnant, it will not work.
The only way to prevent pregnancy is to use birth control, condoms, abstinence etc...

I have one daughter and my mom has 8 kids her youngest still in the belly, so i know quite a bit. Any doctor will tell you that you are most fertile 3-5 days before youre period because that is when the egg is dropped. The time that you are least fertile is the first week after you end your period because there is no egg in your system and none are ready to be dropped again. But you can't always go by that because its not always safe. Your best bet is to use protection. There are many kinds out there and i'm sure one will suite you. Gp to a health department near you, they will help no matter age , color, sex, etc, and it is all confidential even to your parents.

A woman typically ovulates 14 days after her period begins...or before her next period depending on how you want to look at it. This is the best way to get started on how to calculate the days...
After your period starts, count that first day of your period as the first day in counting. Fourteen days later is the day you ovulate. For example, let's say your period started today,June 29th. June 29th is the first day, june 30th is the second day, July 1st is the third day, etc. July 12th will be the day of ovulation. If you have had sex and he came in you up to 8 days before july 12th, you can get pregnant because sperm can live in the body for up to 8 days. If you have sex and he ejaculates in you up to 2 days(july 14th) you can get pregnant because the egg lives close to 2 days, if memory serves me right, after ovulation begins.
Still, if you don't want to get pregnant, use a condom or the pill. The calendar method isn't always reliable because due to hormonal changes, the cycle could change and you could end up pregnant anyway. I hope this helps.
