Every "older" generation thinks that of the "younger" generation. It has been the pattern for 100's of years.

I believe, that teens today are not necessary apathetic or ignorant. I cannot fully agree to this statement. However, I am a high school teacher, and working with these teens, the one thing I have noticed compared to when I was a teen and watching footage from the 80's, 70's, and so on, is that teens today are soooooo dependent on media and others. They are rather lazy and spoiled to a degree. I remember when I had to talk to my friends at school I had to wait till lunch. Today's teens can't wait. They completely live in the now and do not realize any consequences. I think, teenagers today honestly believe they are 100% indispensable and nothing will happen.
Unfortunately, most get hit with reality usually in their senior year or one year after. It is sad but I see it all the time. If you do not believe me go to grad night at Disneyland and watch the stupid things these kids do. and look at their reactions when they get in trouble.

i dont think you should sum up an entire generation for some individuals. sure some if not most are like that but some of us are trying to make the world better. as far as the generation before us goes most of them were the same way. i am pretty sure the same people saying that about us are the ones who use to be hippies. but i i would not say all of them were like that because of the medias portrayal of them. just like how most of them defied the law in their day it is now our turn and they turned out fine.

Every generation seems to think that about teenagers. I remember that when I was a teen they used to say that about my peers as well.

It's not your fault though....the older generations did not challenge you to get out & away from the computers to explore what actual reading/ learning things for yourselves and getting out & actually competing in "real" life & not video games. It's our lazy faults...we raised you the "easy" effortless way & it's done you all harm.
