I know that many people have different views on whether or not CCM is wrong. I just want opinions from everyone - atheists, Christians, etc. In your answer, please include why you think CCM is okay or not, and I would appreciate it if you put if you're a Christian, atheist, Muslim, wiccan, etc., but if you're uncomfortable doing that then that's okay. Thank you for your time :).

Keep in mind that not ALL CCM is bad, but for the most part, I don't believe that God LIKES a lot of this music. Here is why: There is a Bible verse that says that when Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven, his POMP and his TIMBREL was thrown out with him. Pomp is SHOWINESS, and a TIMBREL is an instrument that keeps the BEAT of music. Therefore, music with a lot of showiness, and a beat that makes you feel anything but reverent, and in the presence of the Lord, must be music that only Satan would approve of. This is MY opinion, but I base it on that verse about Satan. Why didn't God just kick Satan out of Heaven, instead of kicking his showmanship and "beat" out? Something MUST be wrong with it all. I, too, am like the other girl who answered, and prefer the old time hymns of reverence and beauty. A beat is fine, but we need to be careful HOW that beat makes us feel.

I am a younger Christian and I love CCM. But I don't always like the churches that play it. Mostly I listen to it outside of church. And at church we still sing all of the normal hymns, and I love that just as much.

I like Contemporary Christian Music. It's refreshing to listen to music without hearing about sexual encounters, cursing, and other sin. It's nice to hear a love song about love not lust. I also like it, because it is a new way to sing praises to God. However, I don't believe all of it is Christian. I think some people want to make it mainstream so bad that they will use it for a jumping off point.

I am a bible-believing Christian and I find CCM to be most appealing to my tastes in music. The music is very comparable to most music you find on secular stations and the lyrics are family-friendly that glorify Jesus Christ.

I am a christian and I prefer either the older style of christian songs or what you would consider rock like falling up, relient k, the afters and such. I do not like the new pop style singers who sing to a techno fake music beat. It gives me a headache. We want real music here!

I usually enjoy rock or folk music, but I have come to enjoy some christian music. I find it to be very uplifting and it helps me to put things into perspective for me when i feel lost. I consider myself a christian...since 1999.
