The best batter in the world today is hands down barry bonds. For all of you that think hes a steriod junky, you have to realize EVERYBODY in baseball used to take steroids befor this scandal
barry bonds is the one getting the the most for it because hes breaking so many records. He has the best hand eye coordination in the game wich is one of the many reasons hes the most intentionally walked player in baseball history. The best short stop is Omar Visquel (10 gold gloves). Of course this is my own personal opinion .

Not to flame - but Cal Ripken isnt even close to the best. And Ortiz is a DH, not a complete baseball player - not even to be considered.

Roy "Doc" Halladay... the starting pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, He already has 1 Cy Young, and should have had one last year (except he suffered a broken leg) but this year he is on his way to another.. (9-2 record)

It is tempting to say Pujols, but let's see if he continues to perform at this level for 3 more years. For now, it has to be A.Rod. here's my reasons...
First, his numbers are just mind-boggling. As of today he has hit 445 HRs and he hasn't reached his prime.
Second, he played shortstop before then changed to 3rd base.
