She was John water's muse in his early films. I think that Ursula of Disneys little mermaid looks like her.

Gotta love me some Glen Milstead, and even more, Divine.

Actually, the animators openly acknowledged that Divine inspired Ursula!

Of Course Disney's Ursula looks like the infamous Divine because the character was developed with Divine in mind for the voice of Ursula, but he/she unfortunately passed before he could. Also leaving us before a scheduled appearence on the 'Married with Children' tv series, which ironically would have been a symbol of mainstream acceptance in a way,but never happened sadly. Divine is an Icon and hero to me for being himself in a world full of clones. We miss him.

I remember Divine. She does look like Ursula. Last movie I saw him was Hairspray.

There was something so fascinating about her! I watched her E True Hollywood story in awe! It said that in one occasion she had to pretend to eat poop but actually ate some to really get into the role! She was so worried she would get ill she called a couple of hospitals asking what the consequences are of eating poop. I think she looked better as a woman than a man. I think about her sometimes!

Divine was the best, she was the queen of cult movies. She made John waters into what he is today.

You know I found a site somewhere on the internet about her. She died awhile back, and the site had a pic of her (as a man or course) in her casket. It was sad and bothered me for days. I believe Ricky Lake attended the funeral.

I met him backstage at a concert he performed in Salt Lake City (yes, Utah!) about 6 months before he died. I had drawn a picture of him for art class and he allowed me to come backstage and he autographed it for me. Truly a cool moment!

I agree--who could ever forget her! The filthiest woman alive!
John Waters was one of the first and most outspoken gay celebrities who was not afraid to throw his gayness in your face! More power to him !
