A lot of experts would say it has to do with population pressure
to many people in a small space and your bound to see violence.
as for me I think it's mostly the media making common something that has always happened.
I'm 45 and as kids we always knew "the kidnappers rapists murders more drug abusers etc," were out there. Just no one talked about them.
I know for a fact that now that we do have it all in the open there are fewer of these taking place.so the frank open talk has dropped those numbers.
today our major is "Crack" a hundred years ago it was "Opium" in another hundred it could be some kind of "Nano-chip"? who knows.
but violent crimes are as much a part of human nature as is great kindness.
the greatest danger we face when it comes to being overwhelmed by bad people is when we as a society bury our heads in the sand and pretend it's someone Else's problem.
If all us could stand toghter and help each other!

Sadly we should look at how they are being raised. Also media. Remember TV and movies in the 70's & 80's. No blood, people shooting people was actually comical (Starsky & Hutch) Now youth are exposed to way too much. They have access to too much. For god sakes you can learn to build a bomb on the internet. We actually had to attend science class to even get close to that much knowledge. It is a beautiful dream that everyone is going to love each other. Just my thoughts, and by no means am I totally blaming the media, or the internet or parents. It is just everything as a whole.
