Mine is the one about Eros and Psyche, Dionesius and Ariadne, and the story of King Arthur (actually that might be more like folklore, but he is in my mythology book.)

The pandora box story.

I like the part when pandora opened the box and out flew all the terrible sufferings of the world but before she slam down the lid, out flew HOPE. It's really a beautiful story that always reminds me when i'm down that hope will always be there touching the wounds of all sufferings.

King Arthur is a great tale, not sure if it's really mythology though. I love the story of Achilles. The tragic flaw theme is so universal.

Perseus didn't fight the minotaur- he fought for Andromeda. I love the story of Bellerophen and Pegasus and Persephone and Hades, The Odyssey and the story of Narcissus. I also love Hercules. Actually...Greek Mythology just rocks! (even though Narcissus is Roman...they stole from the Greeks!)

Though stupid for some people, in Romania there is a legend about Manole, a church builder that couldn't finish The Argesh Monastery until he didn't built it with his wife's alive body. Though harsh, gloomy and bloody, is a wonderful story about the supreme sacrifice. And the monastery is one of teh most beautiful and poignant tourist attractions in Romania.
Your name takes my thoughts to the story of the nightingale and the rose by oscar wilde. I enjoyed every piece of it, too bad it had a sad end:(

Mine is the story of Hades and Persphone. It is played out in the Eleusinian Mysteries (greater). It is also the cornerstone of my religious tradition (NROODG). It is a great tale of love, deciet, loss, regaining, and the turning of the seasons.
