the kids are inschool and they are tooking care already, while i'm working so what is the problem.

My spouse asked me to take the summer off and I am already depressed and stir crazy. A year sounds way too long if you enjoy working. Maybe you should offer 3 months and take it from there. I honestly don't know how women do this full time.
