When I am asked are you married or involved with someone? People look at me like I shot there dog when I say no I never been married and I'm not looking for a relationship. Should I lie, or start looking before I get any older? Give me your feed back on this.

I feel the same way, although I am 31. Every-time people ask where are my kids or husband I look at them like they are crazy. I have never been married and I don't have children, but my dog is great. Yes I do feel lonely from time to time but I'm a grown woman I can take care of myself I don't need a man to support me. Don't get me wrong I would just like to be loved for who I am, however all the good guys are already taken. Sure I would love to be married and have kids, but apparently it is not in God's plan for me, so I live my single life to the fullest and I think it is great that so many younger guys think I'm still hot! Be yourself and don't be afraid to tell people you have no intentions of getting married or having kids...who really cares what they think anyway.

I say good for YOU! I think you are doing exactly what you should do. Whatever makes you happy. No I would not look for a relationship just because some people can't accept an independent woman.

To me it shows how insecure this world is. I am 39 and happily single. I would become serious in a relationship if I felt the urge and met the right individual. However, My life is perfectly fine without a man in my life as well. Only insecure people need a relationship to feel whole.

You have a 2-part question.
Is it wrong to be single? NO. Every individual is a single. You need to be able to depend on yourself. Then, becoming a "double" will work.
Is it wrong to be over 40? No. A lot of people are over 40. It's everyone's goal to live past 40.
Therefore the total answer is equal to the sum of its parts. Therefore, it's okay to be single and over 40. Hang in there. Enjoy life. You will meet the right person.

Maybe back in the day this carried some stigma, but I don't think it does anymore.

Although, it also depends where you live. Big Cities, not too many people would look at you weird. Now if you tell me you live ina small town, where everyone is married with kids...then what can you expect?

Happiness is all that matters...
If your happy being single then forget what others say..

If your lonely and/or think you will be in your old age then maybe you should think about the future...

well it is out of the norm.. so to speak. but if you're happy with it, i see no reason to change for others sake. If you're not commited to having a relationship you won't be happy... and happiness is what its all about right?
