at one point in time i worked as a DJ in a night club in Jackson, MS. i worked there for a total of 4 months. i was there at the opening and left in it's height of success.
when it first opened we catered to the higher classes. after 3 weeks and not much business i suggest making flyers and putting them on the cars at college campuses in the are. Jackson, MS has about 4 colleges. the flyers were made to cater to the college crowd. we had a "ladies night" on thursdays, and live bands on Friday and Saturday nights. so the biggest thing on the flyer was for Ladies Night, and we put a small schedule of the bands on the bottom of the flyer.
we advertised like this for one week. business was great! the club was packed Thurs, Fri, and Sat. the next week we did nothing...so no one came. the week afte that more flyers = more people.
most clubs won't have a large crowd Mon - Wed, because people are always working, but Thrus is a good "pre-weekend" party time, and Fri and Sat are usually the busiest days you can get.
the biggest thing is to let people know you're still open, and you're still the kick as club you were before the management changed.

could it be that the clubs prior mgmt was allowing (looking the other way) or promoting something it shouldnt?...i.e. underage drinking, drug sale/use etc.....ive seen this happen in some local clubs/bars/pubs in my area and quite frankly i enjoy not having the bad element or riff-raff around to contend with (less fights and other garbage) but theyre still not necessarily as fun as they used to be because of the slack off of patrons in general...also new mgmt portrays and attitude now as if to say that theyre watching ME (i dont do this type of crap...who wants to pay good money to have a bad time) because theyre putting a stop to this type of behaviour.....its tough i know but try promotions, contests, tournaments, dance offs, raffles, couples nights, ladies nights,...etc

more promotions since word of mouth as proably dwindle start going to college campus and post flyers or pass them out to students start a new night offer drink specials and perhaps offer free food always a good one people will eat and will def spend money to drink Offer more performances from local or national artist.

get some good bands, have specials, have open mic night, get some special events going like wet T-shirt contests, karaoke contests, something to draw crowds. Best of luck

Come up with a new marketing ploy. Or reinvent the place - new name, new face, get some PR going and invite the "it" girls to party for free.

By always staying in tune with your customers.
The best way, I think, is to always encourage feedback and offer rewards(free drink, etc.) for the folks who do participate in the feedbacks. Funny this is....you'll never please everyone but majority rules in this case...
