America has not "attacked" those countries, by themselves, out of a whim. They are backed by the United Nations and many other countries have helped in the effort to decrease terrorism.

The president of the US was authorized by congress to be able to declare war.

You must just be ignorant because the US does not "rule" either country. The US is supporting the new Iraqi government until they can support themselves, which is starting to happen. Afghanistan has their own government and is allowing the US military to search out and destroy terrorist outposts.

No, they were not invited, but they housed a terrorist and were given chances to relinquish that terrorist without any conflict. They did not thus that action required a reaction which was insertion of troops and a "war." If certain presidents *cough* Clinton *cough* would have taken certain terrorists when they were offered to him in the beginning, we may have averted this whole conflict or at least delayed it for a while. Such is life though and such is the wonderfully complex world of politics.

The attack on Iraq was legit mate because they consistently violated the armistice from the 1991 conflict, which was authorized by the UN.
