If my understanding of older carburetors is correct, it's actually called an anti-percolator valve. Try going to www.old-carburetors.com and you might find the info you seek... I know they have this info on a Packard model, and perhaps you can get info for your Vette. Also, you can get a Chilton repair guide for our year... try Mid America or Corvette Central for repair manuals. Hope this info helped a little.
