of course the new jersey nets. marcus williams was probably the biggest steal in the draft. he was the best pure point guard in the draft. he might be playing behind jsaon kidd, but he's gonna learn a lot from the best point guard in the league, so imagine how good he'll be in 3 years. idk y so many ppl passed on him. and josh boone. he brings intensity and toughness and sum1 hu will rebound, sumthing the nets really needed.

The Nets did well, as did the Bulls and Grizzlies, but the big winner was Portland. Of course, it's easy to be a winner when you finish 21-61, then add six new players on draft night.

The Blazers lost three guys by trade: Sebastian Telfair, Viktor Khryapa and Theo Ratliff. Khryapa is a decent rebounder and defender, but probably won't be much else in the NBA. Ratliff is 33 and coming off his two least productive, most injury-prone seasons. Telfair is 21 and still has promise, but had fallen out of favor in Portland. Blazers coach Nate McMillan had been using Steve Blake and Jarrett Jack ahead of Telfair for much of the year.

The Blazers took in a lot. They gave away Khryapa to the Bulls in order to secure big man LaMarcus Aldridge. They bought Brandon Roy -- arguably the best player in the draft -- off the Timberwolves, for cash and Randy Foye, after getting the No. 7 pick from Boston for Telfair and Ratliff (the Blazers got Raef LaFrentz and Dan Dickau in the deal.) They also bought highly regarded Spanish point guard Sergio Rodriguez off the Suns late in the draft. They took a long-range project, Joel Freeland, to end the first round.

Got all that? Portland's not done. They're looking to give away Darius Miles as soon as humanly possible, and may part ways with Travis Outlaw, too.

Basically Portland traded all their crappy players and got good ones (mainly LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy arguably the best player in the 2006 NBA draft)

Now that I think about it the Nets did well, I mean picking PG Marcus Williams at No. 22. I still can't believe that...... this probably was the crappiest draft I mean droping from top 10 to #22 Unfortunatly Portland did better they picked up BRANDON ROY AND LAMARCUS ALDRIGE

The Nets and Blazers
The Nets picked up the best point guard in draft (Marcus Williams) who now gets to lern from a great playmaker (Jason Kidd). Also Josh Boone and Williams will have automatic chemistry because they were teammates at UConn. Plus Boone will be prettty good at the Defensive end as there PF.

The Blazers got Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Sergio Rodriguez, and Joe Freeland. Brandon Roy will make a great beginning impact at the 2 guard slot. Sergio Rodriguez will help at the playmaker position and he will make a great point guard (his nickname is the Spanish Magician). LaMarcus Aldridge is a dominanting big man but Tyrus Thomas would have been better.

In the end, lets go NETS

C'mon guys, did the Nets really need a point guard?
williams is not gonna get that much playing time as long as kidd is around.

The real winners were the Bulls, they got what they needed, a big man that gives them a presence in the paint, and that will open up shots for Hinrick, Gordon, and Duhon. Look for them to be ine of the good teams in the East.

The Blazers also did great, they were all over the draft.

Nets clearly did the best, thy took their point guard of the future in Marcus Williams (Jason Kidd is getting old!) and taking his teammate Josh Boone was a plus too as the two r alredy aquainted wit each other and will make time in the NBA 4 each other a lot easier.
