We honestly won't know until the movie is released and we all see it. We can't be making judgements on somone when we haven't even seen them work yet.
I admit, I heard Daniel Craig was cast and said...really? Not Ewan McGregor or Ralph Fiennes?
Then I saw the trailer. Now I'm a little more optimistic.

Since he's new we'll just have to find out. Casino Royale is the first 007 movie before Doctor No.So I think they will start remaking them with different actors. Hugh Grant would have made a good Bond,but he's up there in age to.

Nope...doesn't have the suave panache of a 007. Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan were the only 2 great Bond's.
