Most NL clubs have the home dugouts on the 3rd base side, in the AL, first base side., which works out well in the All-Star game. There are no hard and fast rules.

It depends on the team. Most teams use the 1st base dugout for the home team but there are a few teams that use the 3rd base dugout for the home team.

The home team always gets the Clean dugout. Because the home team takes care of they're field and dugout. The away team trashs the dugouts so much.

Normally the 3rd base side is always the home team dugout. When it is first base, it is usually because of money issues in the majors or shade in sandlot ball... jw espinosa
