first of all i am not an eminent person in hindu mythology
i am just a mortal who lives in this world.

secondly the ten avatars are of lord vishnu.krishna being one of them.

thirdly darwins theory is about natural selction and survival of the fittest. it explains how species evolve. i cant see how or why one would like to apply a theory for explaining amoeba and dinosaurs and apes to gods.
why do we indians think that we can find new meanings in our
ancient texts especially new meanings that will explain scientific theories of the west which we learnt in our english medium schools and universities.
i think that the highly educated people in india strive to validate what they see as a huge store house of ancient knowledge (which is apparently meaningless according to their modern education) on the basis of the very same modern science which refutes it.
come on ...the dasavataras go like this if u analyze...
a fish (matsya)
to a amphibian( kurma)
to mammal ( varaha)
to perhaps a neanderthal (narasimha)
to a pygmy or the china man ( vamana)
to modern humans (parasurama, rama, krishna, buddha and kalki)

where is the evolution reflected here? if we go by linnaeus' classification of species we missed the crucial reptiles and birds (avies) levels . dont say they are explained by garuda and sesha which are the vehicles of vishnu.

lastly i hope you know the meaning of the word avatar...it means coming down ...from heavens to the earth as a mortal...

now tell me ...vedas say god is everywhere...then from where is god coming down to where ? isnt that illogical?

avataras are stories in puranas ...dont try to put a spin on them saying they hide in them the secrets of evolution or saying they are like newer and newer versions of a software called GOD.

p.s. according to vedas evolution doesnt occur. god created humans at the beginning of the creation and gave the knowledge of vedas to four enlightened souls or rishis. so dont go round in the maze of falsehoods upon falsehoods.
