you don't get a girl to like you by changing who you are. They either like you or they don't...just be yourself. Don't give them TOO much attention either. Girls like a bit of a chase sometimes too. IF you are too simple, you won't have a chance.

Try not hiding it from your parents. If you open up to them they can be very helpful in the whole process. Go for people in your grade -don't base it on age.

To get a girl to like you, show her that you are a hot item. Hang out with girls that are more popular than she is, or girls that are her friends. Treat them as your friend and then slowly get to know her likes and dislikes. A good range depends on your maturity, but I would worry more about school at 14.
There are more better selections once you get in a good college.
However, if you must get a girlfriend for whatever reason.
If you are a laidback person, and like to learn from others, choose a girl that is older or the same age. Girls tend to be more mature than boys. However, if you like to be in charge and like to brainstorm with other classmates, choose a girl that is 2- 5 years younger.

13 to 15 would be a good range and if you dont think your parents want you to have one then dont... but if you must sneak, then make it a school-exclusive relationship. that means just be together in school, but not anywhere else where your parents might see you. as for getting girls to like you... I would have to say... be outgoing. girls love the outgoing and wild ones... or turn into the bad guy... girls also like bad boys... lol.
