Book your flights as early as possible. I booked my May trip in early April and got a great deal on expedia.com. I checked the flight about a week or two later and it was already $50 more than what I booked online.

Check around. My vote is to go to Expedia.com. The sooner the better.

Many airlines go 350 days in advance for booking, but you get the best price between 3-6 weeks from date of departure, unless you have flexible dates, then sometimes you get a steal of a last minute deal.

You can book tickets minutes before the flight if you need to. In terms of how far in advance, you can typically book up to 3 months in advance.
