It seems the only issue the current administartion is concerned about is fighting terrorism and 'protecting' us from said terrorists. But in the meantime most US citizens have lost all faith in the government and assume the government will not help them.
When politics is corrupt at it's very core, does electing new officals even matter? Does the government only respond to hostel acts towards them?

The one thing you can be sure every politician wants, especially the real sleazy ones, is to get re-elected. If you bring enough attention to the issue, you can get things done. Start by writting your congressman, post a blog, e-mail the news stations. If you can get some momentum going, they will listen, and be FORCED to respond in order to save their own a**!. How many people to you think you have reached with this question?

Thomas Jefferson once said: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

The ONLY way we'll get our so-called 'honorable public servants' to recognize domestic issues is through force (and, yes, we do still enoy the right to bear arms against a tyrannical government).

But Americans are too distracted with maxxed-out credit cards; Britney Spears' new baby; $3.00-a-gallon fuel for our gas-guzzling SUVs; "low prices - everyday" for WalMart junk we don't even need; and the ranking of our favorite baseball team.

Voting doesn't work. Politicians don't want us to vote because it reduces their changes of re-election. Besides, if we replace all the crooked Republicans with Democrats, we just have a new group of crooked politicians. "Republicrats" are evil, corrupt, incompetent, and useless.

It's time for Americans to get off the couch, put down the remote, and take to the streets demanding that "We the People" get our country back! Until we demolish the Republicrats and replace them with honest, decent, respectable statesmen who genuinely want to serve their country instead of themselves, there will be no way in Hell elected officials will ever pay any attention to the 'common' citizen. Look how they all ran scared in 1992 when H. Ross Perot got 19% of the popular vote! But, once that little skirmish was swept under the rug, our sleazy politicians went right back to their devilish ways.

Consider what the Bush administration, in cooperation with an equally evil and corrupt U.S. Congress has done since 2000:

1. Illegally and unconstitutionally invaded another sovereign nation which did not provoke, threaten or attack the USA;
2. Massacred tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens for no justifiable reason other than the Bush wish to 'get even' with Hussein for humiliating his daddy during Desert Storm, and Big Dick Cheney's desire to steal all that oil swimming underneath Iraq's sands so that he and his Halliburton buddies can get richer and richer and richer;
3. Terrified small nations into believing they must build nuclear weapons in order to defend themselves agains the newest "evil empire' - the USA;
4. Initiated failed economic strategies that will certainly lead to a recession or severe depression, and has already left taxpayers trillions of dollars in debt;
5. Dismantled environmental laws designed to help protect the world's fragile eco-system so that future generations are left with a safe and healthy ecological balance;
6. Condoned the physical, emotional, verbal and sexual abuse of irresponsibly-incarcerated prisoners in direct disregard to the rules of the Geneva Convention - and even resulting in the deaths of some prisoners;
7. Killed over 2,500 U.S. soliders (so far);
8. Turned our country into a police state where citizens are presumed guilty until proven innocent;
9. Damaged our reputation as a world leader and global peacekeeper;
10. Lied to Americans and leaked information to the press whenever it was convenient to fit their agenda;
11. Neglected the needs of America's poor, aged, disabled, sick, hungry, homeless, underprivileged and disadvantaged;
12. Played 'Robin Hood in Reverse' by stealing from the poor and giving it all to the rich individuals, politically well-connected, special interest groups, lobbyists, and big corporations who - in turn - make generous (if not illegal) campaign contributions that ensure the GOP remains in power.

Certainly Satan has reserved a special oil-soaked corner of Hell for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and our Congressional co-conspirators where they can spend their eternal damnation blaming each other for the mess they made of this world.

Meanwhile, the only way we can get our repugnant politicans to pay attention to the needs of America is by a show of sheer force. These evil 'leaders' deserve to be impeached or tried for high treason, and - if convicted, should face a public firing squad.

Write 2 letters a day to your local city council, carbon-copy your state legislature, go stand outside city hall with a picket sign, make your voice/views heard until they have no choice but to sit up and take notice. If damn mexicans can hold rallies and march in our streets, so can americans, by golly, and our representatives don't have to LIKE it, necessarily, but inevitably they will have to listen.

forget about it, government only caters to big corporations now, who have lobbyists. They couldn't care less about the avg citizen. I can believe the immigration "debate" is a debate at all, clearly shows the government doesn't care.
