If you had a chance to go aboard the first trip to MARS, would you go? It would be kind of scarey because what if you don't make it back home, it's not like a trip down BAJA MEXICO, tha't for sure.

I wouldn't go because it would be much like being put to work as a scientist in Antartica. Just think of the sandstorms that last months and all you have to look out at is the wall with artificial light. The drawbacks outweigh the benefits and novelty until we can do thousands of years of terraforming (if we don't blow ourselves up first).

No. I would go to the Moon, which is only 3 days away, but it takes months to get to Mars and I just don't want to be cooped up in a space craft, no matter how comfortable they made it, for that long.

No. Let the technology be proven safe, then go. Let the first few eager suckers get killed due to pilot error or something.

I wouldn't go first, but I would definitely go! I would wait until the basic amentities are in place, and a few groups have already gone and returned.
I don't camp on earth, I sure don't plan to 'rough it' on Mars. Room service please!

Heck yeah, that would be cool. Just imagine, not just leaving your continent but the planet and even its gravity! Not even the moon is free of Earth's gravity.
