England, like the Netherlands and Portugal, have sofar been disappointing in their World Cup appearances. They're a bit inconsistent, seemingly unable to reach the end of 90 minutes intact or with some energy left. I can see England progressing against puir Portugal for that same reason, it should be a good scrap though. With all the yellow and red cards Portugal received in their previous match, England are surely favourites for the match. But they'll meet the winner of Argentina v Germany next. England did have proper results against either side, my skin still tingles with that 0-6 win over the Germans a few years ago, but in their current form England do not have the creativity or stamina to overcome Germany's home advantage or Argentina's team spirit. It won't be a big defeat, but in all honesty they don't stand a chance. Neither do Portugal though.
More unfortunately still, though the England team will be loads better in South Africa 2010, I'm sure the Scottish side will also take part in that cup and that pretty much guarantees the English won't make it to the second round..

Yes.
Probably not this year tho.
Get rid of the dull, clueless swede who thinks taking a 17-year old and not playing him is a good idea. Who thinks playing 4-1-4-1 is a good idea. Who... oh, I could go on for days...
Anyway, get rid of him and we might have a chance.

Yes.I believe in England.Though they're not playing good football lately,I believe that they can do it.U see,I believe that england has somekind of strange 'aura' when fighting against great teams because everytime england play badly, the opponent tend to lose their form and play even WORSE!!

If they somehow can improve and not depend on Beckham's Free kicks to score then maybe they'll have a chance to win a game.

IF they Play Theo Walcot then they have a chance. Rooney alone will not bring it home for England.
