I don't know how unique it is....but my older kids are really (I mean REALLY starting to question how real Santa is) And I have two younger kids that still believe in Santa and will for sometime.
For the last few years we put flour down in front of the fireplace. And we let the kids do this. When they are asleep we get one of my husbands boots and make BOOT tracks or Santa tracks to the Christmas tree.
It does make a little mess but the vaccum cleaner, get it right up.
My kids are ALWAYS amazed at it! But it is our tradition and one that will be carried out for at least 8 more years.

well I don't celebrate christmas, but I do celebrate yule on the 20th. I usually ask off for the 20th/21st so I can have my holiday. and graciously work the overtime hours on christmas day so others can have their holiday.
for me, yule means and all night party burning the tree. heh.
No seriously, we decorate one inside the house, and then another completely seperate gets burned in the fireplace inside if its really cold out....or in the fire pit outside if its tolerable. (I live in Florida, not really snow cold here) Usually spend the whole night with a party. Big dinner, big drink....basically celebrating that we survived half way through winter. (again not a big deal these days, since we have central heat and air and a grocery store around the corner)

It's not very fascinating, but since my children (both grown now) don't particularly care for traditional Christmas food (turkey and trimmings), I let them take turns choosing what we will have when we are at my house. One year it might be Italian, the next Mexican foods.

it is spending time with my family, brother's sister's son's and daughter.it's making a bomb fire and just chilling out. it's about eating tamales frijoles charro's rice with punch for the kids and mix drink for the adults. it's about gathering and playing games, opening presents, and talking about all the good times we shared with our mom when she was alive, about being thankful for what we have and wishing everyone the best for the coming year it's about teaching our children that family comes first and that materialistic things aren't what makes us happy WOW!!!
