No, but seriously. It just made me so sad. Having extra time, we could have brought on two more players, and the game could have gone either way. I am so happy with how the team played over the four matches, and I would have been happy (well, happier) to have seen them lose in an honest fashion.
Hopefully being part of Asia now, Australia will qualify for many many more world cups and become less of an easy target for poor referreeing decisions.

I think there are too many people here who think that having a greater possession means playing well...well then Spain crucified France ! You guys cannot deny the fact that despite having a man advantage Aussies were poor in front of goal creating little. Viduka forgot which direction the goal was ! Agreed the penalty WAS UNFAIR . But so was Materazzi's red, 11 against 11 would have been a different game.
Aussies showed excellent spirit, they really did. You can feel bad .But they never looked like scoring.

I DO !!!!!!! -- Look, consolation yes, but a hell of a consolation... IN THE HEARTS OF ALL PEOPLES OF WORLD, YOU GUYS ARE THE BETTER TEAM and not the Italians. Now I am a Portugal supporter and you must have seen the SHAMBLES, SHAME of a match between JPOrtugal and the Dutchees. While we were 11 against 11, the Dirty Dutchies got a super goal right between their eyes. Then the dirt began and the goals STOPPED and the World was deprived of several more SUPERB goals. We won the match... it was the World that lost more superb goals ! LOLO !!

Defitnetely.... Australia did sooo great. but like always the referees favor the big teams. Australia is awesome and deserved to proceed. Italy should feel ashamed, cause they won by not by their skills.

i think it was a foul play by the refree. australians really played well and had the play continued italians should have lost
