To SHY I am not american, I asked the question because I am Jamaican and wanted to know what americans think of Jamaicans. I just recently moved up here.

Beautiful people who are appreciative of their cultures. I would love to go there one day. I love the way Jamaicans talk and dance. So soulful. Peace!

I guess most Americans think Jamaicans smoke alot of WEED, and the reason for that is what they see on Television. When you watch most movies and they portray Jamaicans, it is either a weed smoker, a witchdoctor, or a drug dealer. Not that these things don't exist, but people don't want to take the time to find out that people are pretty much the same all over.
P.S. I hated the way Jamaicans were portaryed in that Steven Segal Movie " Marked for Death"

I grew up in the midwest USA, and we didn't really know any Jamaicans until about Bob Marley time. At that time they appeared funny and friendly. I never noticed the same type of animosity against Jamaicans that I have seen others face.

I think some Jamaicans can be very charming, and some others are not so charming. Pretty much like people everywhere else.

For some reason my friend always likens Jamaicans to nurses. And that doesn't make sense.
When I think of Jamaicans, however, I think of reggae mostly. And "Hey mon!"

I love the music...and my boyfriend...the Jamaicans i know keep their family really close and help you out whenever you need..so i think their great.

I don't know what the racist people think but non racist think of jamaicans no less then the rest of people in america today!

I love them. When I visited Jamaica the people were very friendly.
