Hey guys, just wondering about one thing. Are the PS3's graphics going to actually be any better (or significantly better) than the XBOX 360's graphics? I mean, is the PS3 processor a lot more powerful than the XBOX 360's? IS the PS3's advantage mostly in it's extra features like Bluray drive and not in its graphical advantage?

The PS3 will win on graphics ect. However, Xbox360 is more consumer friendly and has better online capabilities. It also has the more popular and well known game titles, which will eventually turn the sides too Microsoft. Sony are releasing too late and titles such as Halo3 could beat PS3 by itself. The PS3 is too much money also. Who wants to spend $500 - $600 on a gaming console? THE MAJOR FACTOR - Sony and the PS3 are focused on technical numbers rather than the people. Microsoft and the Xbox 360 are focused on the people and giving them what they want in a gaming console. Xbox 360 will be on top in the end. With the way Sony is treating the situation, they could be challeneged by the Wii. If you have any comments, contact me at NcoMpr@aol.com, Gamertag - xTrick360x

The only hardware difference with the 360 and the PS3 that I found is that the PS3 will use a more powerful 550 MHZ graphics card compared to the 360's 500 MHZ graphics card. And yes because PS3 will play Blu Ray more things can be stored into games than ever before, but because all there games will be HD that will take up most of the space. I still go for the Xbox 360 because of its powerful line up of games.

Her is the plain truth, Xbox 360 is more powerful in some areas, and PlayStation 3 is more powerful in others. Both are great consoles, but the graphics are going to be almost the same for each console. To give you a example, its going to b like PlayStation 2 and xbox, both had pretty much the same graphics.

Overall if you want to experience next generation video games then buy the Xbox 360. And if you have money left go buy the PS3, so you can have best of both worlds.

Well.....the comparison between PS3 and Xbox 360's processing power is minor....I am pretty sure game developers won't even try to use the most of both systems' power anyways. To me...Xbox 360 is a better deal. It has a solid online multiplayer structure and at only $300-$400. I used to be on xbox live and it is soo user friendly. Customer service to change gamer's tag was great and quick too. PS3 's blue-ray capability sounds nice, but when will we start seeing movies on it. I bet only 3-5% of gamers will actually buy blue-ray disc movies. The majority will only play games. For now, I will buy the xbox 360....and maybe ps3 until its price drops significantly along with a solid online system. Recently, I don't see much of PS3's "gameplay" trailer except all pre-made demos....like a movie. My friend always say that the "pre-made trailers" were what the PS3 in-game play will look like....,but I doubt it. The graphics all depends on the game developers.

Ah, jeez. You'll probably get answers from fanboys on either side here, so be prepared. Here goes. I would have to say the 360 would be better. The PS3 is utilizing blu-ray tech, but it makes the console outrageously expensive, and there's really no need for so much space. Oblivion, in all of its massive glory, still fits on a single disk on the 360. There is absolutely no need for the enormous space that the PS3 offers. Not much has been said yet about what it has to offer, but if you're looking for the better console, its probably the 360.

The ps3 is going to be a hell of a lot better because it has a blue ray drive which is going to be the next "DVD" in our homes. The games will have a lot more qality and quantity in them than the 360 because of the blue ray drive.
The reason it's more expensive is becouse it's better than the Wii and 360, It's almost 2x better in specs than the 360.
But it's all up to the developers to do the games, if there's going to be the same game on both consoles it won't be the same. if they want to be lazy and down grade there ps3 game to be the same with 360. Or if they want to upgrade the 360 game to be the same with PS3 (which means haveing two - three disc for the 360 game)
It all goes down to this,
THE PS3 IS BETTER
THATS WHY IS COST MORE
AND SONY HAS MORE EXPERENCE
THIS IS THERE THIRD CONSEL AND MICROSOFT'S SECOUND CONSEL

You should get the PS3 because the specs of it is 35 times better than the PS2 and probably 15 times better than the XBox 360

I don't know but I do know that the XBOX360 (or the 360) will cost less then the PS3. The PS3 will cost 500$ for a standard pack, and 600$ for the deluxe pack. Unless you are a millionare or if you are REALLY rich, I'd stay with the Xbox360. If you don't have as much money, get a Nintendo Wii. It will be under 250$ !

I would think that it was in the bluray drive I read in a gameinformer magazine and they said that the bluray drive probably would cost around $300 so I think that's why its gonna be more not because of the graphics. I think the graphics are gonna be the same. The Xbox360 costs a good $200 - $300 dollars cheaper that's why I went with it.

The PS3's RAM is split between the Cell and GPU, and xbox360 uses it's RAM mutually. The core PS3 (500$)lacks HDMI, which is required to view games in 1080p. Most developers won't take risks in making game exclusives next gen, expect many ports and Playstation to lose it's exclusive titles. Developers can make 10 wii games for the price of one PS3 game, and Kaz Harai (President of Sony) recently was interviewed in PSM (playstation magazine). He admitted software prices for PS3 could likely exceed 60$, and max out at 100$. The only reason someone should be compelled to purchase PS3 is for exclusive titles like MGS4, DMC, GT, and FF13. If you're not an FPS fanatic, I'd recommend you avoid xbox360, because that's their prime genre. Gears of War, Halo 3, Too Human, Crysis, FEAR, Quake, FarCry, Huxley, Prey, ect. My decision would be to purchase the Wii.
