I paid $1000.00 by check onl;ie two weeks ago and have not received my product. Can I get my bank to put the money back into my checking account? The merchant said he did ship and wait another couple of days. I don't want to wait anymore.

Two weeks? That's nothing. The seller had to wait for your check, which is 4 days in the mail. Then at least 3 days, and probably 10 days before the bank would clear the check as good. You didn't mention how they shipped, but unless you paid for 2-3 day shipping it could be 10 days to 2 weeks before you even see it. Relax for a little while longer. Be patient.

Yes there is, the coal miner that makes this kind of money has a Masters degree in Environmental Geology/Geohydrology. The starting salary is about $80,000.

Dispute it. You can do this through your bank AND the website you used (was it PayPal?) If your check has not cleared yet, stop payment on it.
