Do people lose all sense of rythym after a certain age? Start doing weird moves with their arms , singing along, and making strange transfixed facial expressions? And does it really look sexy if you are way overweight? Or are we supposed to laugh at them?

I'd say it's pretty shallow to single out people that are over 50 and or 50 lbs overweight to quit dancing. Weddings are a time to have fun and dancing is exercise. Exercise is good for everyone especially the two groups you listed. If they keep dancing it will only make them healthier.

I am not either of the above but I'm close TO 50. I can dance. I love to dance. I think anyone who wants to dance should dance. What does "sexy" have to do with it??? Are you like 12?
You are quite judgmental aren't you? Do you feel bad about yourself or something? I'm sorry if you have a bad image of yourself to put other people down like that. I hope you get better (or grow up)

I don't think you should laugh at them. I think you should enjoy a person who knows how to let go of all things superficial and live their life to the fullest... are we seriously supposed to stop living or experiencing things cuz we don't look right or don't do something perfect .. heck no! Maybe you should just dance a little yourself and quit watching others!

it is no harm to be 50 or 50 Lbs overweight to dance, if they want to dance so be it, who we are to judge some one by dancing. I mean if I want to dance and people laugh at me cuz the way I dance so be it let them laugh it is not going to stop be from dancing.

Older people are just dancing tha way they danced when they were your age. They think it's still cool (like my mom).
For the overweight thing, it's good for them (makes them LOOSE weight). I know this is such a weird paradox.

I hate to tell ya but these days if everyone 50 lbs overweigt stopped dancing....we would have one heck of a dancer shortage in the clubs.

Why would you want to laugh at someone enjoying themselves at a wedding reception. Don't you have anything else to enjoy, like the celebration itself, you could try doing some of what these older overweight people are doing and enjoy it YOURSELF !!!

Since when does age or weight make you a better dancer? I've seen young people AND skinny people who could not look any stupider if they tried while dancing.

My mom is 67 about 50 lbs over weight, but she can dance. She'll school you on dancing! I think people that just don't have rythem just don't have it. No matter what age or weight they are!
