If you have seen the show (either when it was first run or syndicated) which characters did you like the most?

Mine are Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda) since he was funny most of the time but also serious when it called for it (like a patient died)

and Corporal Klinger, since he was always acting crazy (although he had to, to get that section eight, but still)

Pick a favorite character from that cast. It was the chemistry of the group that made the show what it was. That plus a lot of stereotypical characters.

Hawkeye--The alcoholic bleeding heart who kept everybody wondering if he was genius or crazy.

BJ/Trapper--The perfect foils for Hawkeye.

Henry Blake--any ex military person's ideal commander.

Frank Burns--Stupid, money grubbing, woman hater.

Radar-The reason war is bad. The classic farm boy in the new world.

Margaret--A feminist who didn't know it. Heart of Gold, but unwilling to appear weak.

Col. Potter--Grandpa.

Klinger--Crazy like a fox. And really a decent caring man.

It was the mixture of the all of these, but the attitude in this country about war in general that caused the popularity of the show.

All of them are great, but I'd say Hawkeye and Klinger were the funniest. The entire cast was awesome though, they did such a good job of casting the show!

I think it was funnier with Frank and Col. Blake, and gradually grew more serious and politically charged, but it was still an excellent show down to the last episode.

I watch it almost daily in reruns, it's just one of those shows I will always watch if it's on, no matter how many times I've seen it! :o)

My favorite was Col. Henry Potter. He was just about the only real man there. His character was a good man with strong values. Pierce was way too liberal and whiney.
