I heard a rumor that the actor that plays Superman is gay, is this true?

A gay magazine (The Advocate) initially reported that story and it was pickedup by the LA Times. But it wasn't claiming that the man (Brandon somebody) who plays superman was gay, they just wrote a flashy headline to get people to read the story.

if you are not dating him who cares - actors act. they can act gay straight and bi thats what they do act and thats how we should judge them on the acting not their sexual orientation
