I would definitely trust my partner. I'm a pretty open person sexually though. You really have to trust your partner in order to be okay with that. A suggestion though if you aren't sure if you will like it, is talk to your partner and come up with a code word, meaning like maybe "blue" and what it is is, that maybe if you say stop they might think you are roleplaying, so to come up with a word that you both agree on, when you say that, it means stop, you aren't comfortable. If your partner respects you he will understand you being unsure. As for how long it all depends on what the idea is. Sometimes you may stay tied up the whole time, because you are being treated, or maybe you stay tied up for just during foreplay and then get untied when you want to have sex. I trust my partners completely, and yes, I'd let them do that. I've done it before many times.
How long would be until I needed to go to the bathroom. I've been fed while tied up but prefer to feed myself. And being bathed while tied up always sounds more romantic than it really is. Anything past a few fun hours is just an endurance test. Those can be fun, just to see how long you last, but the longer it goes, the less you feel like doing it again.

Having to tie or be tied is very sensual. Before hand you need to have ground rules. If you're into pain, have a special word that you say to have your partner stop. You might be able to buy quick release bracelets or something similar. Good luck and have fun.
