I occasionally get a pinching feeling in my neck, followed by a lapse of strength loss in my right arm. Is it anything other than possible spinal issues or should I be worried.

The decreased strength in your arm is caused by nerve damage. Even though it is temporary, it is not good to have it occur repeatedly. Talk to your physician about treatment - either physical therapy or visiting a chiropractor may help.

GET THEE TO A PRACTIONER. Loss of strength, even if temporary, is a red flag. ?Is there any sensation of an electrical shock feeling? How long does this loss of strength last? Is there any numbness? These are all additional clues. Tell your Doc.

i was told by a doctor that the muscles around the neck are there just to hold up the head, your pain could be coming from your spine, i have a spine disorder that causes pain like that even to my legs and feet and arms.

thats hard to answer (the neck is a quite complicated structure) without seeing it, could be a pinched nerve...
go to a doctor, get it checked out. they can tell you a lot better than people on here.

good luck
