Waiting until after your period is important so that the birth control pills can match up to your body's natural hormonal process. If you take the pill in any other manner its effectiveness is reduced and you should use a back-up method. Remember, you need to be on the pills for about a month before you stop using your other form of birth control.

The tablets are meant to be taken only on the days specified. If you start a set before one week the period gets postponed.Dates will not be known and a lot of confusion may result. And if you are already pregnant you will not go for a check up.That delays the diagnosis of pregnancy.
