Not at all. It works fine with my non-bluetooth phone. Bear in mind the phone has to be so close to the flasher to work that it is almost not worth having, but....it's a nice little model, with a good sound effect and is a fun item.

The tardis phone alert will work with any phone other than a 3g mobile phone.
My phone works great with the Tardis phone alert and it does not have bluetooth.

I have not seen anything that says it does require Bluetooth, only that it will not work with 3G Phones.
