He is so good, very fun and never bites, will momentarily calm when we pick him up to get out of trouble spots, but when in lap will wiggle and be so wild after play session, any ideas, techniques for calming?

Well this works with my ferret, You have to "cup" his head in your hands, and rub his ears. Also rubbing his cheat works too.

Ferrets are not calm animals. They don't cuddle like cats do, but as they get older they get a bit calmer. It's said that about 1 in 100 ferrets will turn out to be a cuddler, so good luck.
Whatever you do, do NOT give them APPLES OR CARROTS like someone suggested. Ferrets don't have a part of the small intestines called the cecum which would be required to digest things like fruits and vegetables. Fruits contain way too much sugar as well. Ferrets are meat eaters.
Just have fun with your fuzzy and enjoy.

Really its her way of playing (well of course). I used to have a ferret too, but a dog got her... If you want her to be calm put her it your shirt, not when shes already awake she has to be sleepy, but also let her play, she loves you! Let her be with you! And I could make my ferret yawn no matter how awake she was like the erson above!

Hold food with him in your lap, (ex. carrots, apples) big things that wont make a mess, he will want the food and will stay calm to eat it.

Play with him until he gets tired and goes too sleep!
