HELLO ZYED!
*17 is never too late! I believe clubs or state teams might conduct try-outs for their side, mainly in select cities. Not sure when or how often. U have to keep reading local papers to get details about regional clubs.
*Also, try to maintain good levels of fitness & try to work on your fielding. This might be useful in selection policies in future. Also this might help u to extend the number of cricket playing years u have in hand.
*Multidimensional players are preferred. If u are a bowler try improving your batting & vice-versa
*Try improving your technique. That might help u easily return to form, once u get out of touch
* Get professional - learn more about better diets, relieving stress, how to switch off after a match....
Finally, it’s talent that gets u a spot in the side. So if u are good, age is never a barrier. (Not for someone in mid 30s or higher) Also don’t put too much pressure on yourself; a slight amount of luck is also essential. Try to find another means of income, side by side. They do pay a lot for state teams in India, maybe not the same with clubs. So u might drop the idea midway.
BEST OF LUCK!!!

hellooooooooooooo zyed i think there is no wrong with ur age as u say that u r a good player. i think this a good opportunity for u to join some club as soon as possible. opportunity knocks only once it is upto u when u open the door. i think u look very determined for cricket i think u should go for it. dont waste ur time n just search a club in which u could play n hurry . u will just need hard work , determination n consistency . i m sure u will do . when u join ne inform me

To be completely honest, I think it's too late for you. Esp. in India. If you look at the new players in the team - Irfan, Raina etc...., they're only 20-21 and already playing for the country. They would have played 1-2 yrs at Ranji. Represented the country at U19 world cup. Played junior cricket before that.
Cricket is a game that takes years to master. Apart from the specific techniques of batting and bowling, there are so many strategies that affect the game.
I always wanted to play ricket at a high level. I'm not bad, and I'e been playing for many teams and clubs since I was in school. But at a point you realise that only 11 guys play for the country. Similarly, only 100-200 ppl (out of a pop of 1 billion!!!) play domestic cricket.
Sorry yaar. Yeh sapna adhoora hi rahega.

look zyed, the greatest obstacle is that u believe that there is an obstacle. they is no age of starting cricket. you are still young know cricket now u just have to it with some basic skills. if your are tough enough to work hard it is just within your reach.
