The closest BMW (seen as though we're in the BMW section) ever made to this was the Z1.
This used a hot dip galvanised steel chassis and plastic body panels. These can obviously withstand minor impacts but would crack in heavier ones.

No car body is 100% safe from an accident.
Saturn was launched on the basis of plastic side panels to resist dents. This is just the same polymer plastic that is used to make bumper skins. But as of 2007 Saturn is phasing out the plastic panel thinking and going to all metal panels like the rest of the manufacturers.
Camaro and Firebirds have these panels as front fenders and doors as well. Many mini vans have this material as a tailgate door.
There is no metal that is dent proof unless you get into high tech alloys. There is a new metal for cars that is still in the testing stages. It reacts to super hot water. When you bend this metal and then put hot water on it, it goes back to its original shape.
This metal is still in testing stages and it will be at least 15 yrs before it is seen as a common item on a car.

Steel is usually used in Car Body manufacturing, as it is easy and cheap to work with.
But for dent proof, it is a Holy Grail, some designs can take a few mm of dent and bounce back.
If you ready want dent proof, try Armoured Cars or Tanks, with metal thickness of 7 mm and above.
Given sufficient force their metal will also give way.
The Metal giving way is a form of protection for the people within the car, the metal helps to absorb the impact, which otherwise maybe transferred to the people within the car.

a dent proof body would be very hazardous The passengers would feel the full impact of the crash. The folding and parts coming off in a crash help distribute the force of impact. otherwise the passengers would be slammed around like toys. That is why race cars come apart the way that they do. to help protect the driver.

dent proof only protects the car at certain strength of impact but once the threshold is exceeded then it's not dent proof anymore. like if a car next to you accidentally opens his door and hit you then dent proof can withstand that but if you another car let say at 30-40 i don't believe it will hold. and the safety of the passenger is not guaranteed by this and this doesn't mean it is the safest car.

Tom B may be correct. I believe it was Saturn. This may not proved to be a good idea and may have stopped. I think they not use Metal Panels but a High Tech type of Plastic Polymer. That about all I know.
