You have to contact the Vital Statistics office in the state where you were born. There's generally a small fee so you need to send a money order or check with your written request. Google, for example, Texas Office of Vital Statistics. That should pull up contact numbers, call the office and they can tell you what you need to do.

You may be able to do this online. Search state of Texas, Vital Statistics, located in Austin. You may be able to apply online with a credit card, or draft. If not, you will get the info you need to apply by mail and the fee required.

Your birth records are held at the county in which you were born. If it is Harris Co. in Houston, then check with the County Clerk's office.

Go to your local town hall of records. You'll pay a small fee, fill out a paper and they either send it or give it to you right away. Depends on the laws in your state.
