According to an article by George Stebinsky in the Columbus Dispatch.com, an 1864 2-cent piece in good condition is worth around $8 and up. If you have one with the motto in small type (a rare variety), it is worth about $100 in good condition.

Approx. $7.00 in the condition you described. It is a wonderful conversation piece. Most people don't even know the US minted two cent coins (or half-cent, three cent silver & nickle coins, and twenty cent pieces). I would just keep it.
