I personally have not been in this situation, but, a friend/teacher of mine has. One of the things that helped her is that she trained as much as she could for as long as she could. She danced up until 8 months mostly doing barre at that point and very easy center work (no turns and no jumps). It took after she had her child probably 7-8 months. The average time it takes for any woman is 9 months usually. However, every woman is different so the time varies. Things you can do when you cannot do a strenuous class can be light yoga or pilates. Pilates esp. will help bring your core back. The key is to start light and build up as much as your body will allow. Diet is also important. If you want the ballet body back faster, you have to be very strict about what you eat and how you prepare it. Less carbs and more protein will help develop the lean muscle mass you are looking for and of course plenty of fruits and veggies. Dairy products also have recently been proven to help women slim down as well.

Julie Kent of American Ballet Theatre had a baby and came back a season later with a full dance schedule. If she can do it, you can too.
You can take pregnancy yoga, pilates to keep you fit during pregnancy and you can take up singing/piano lessons to help out with the musical theatre. I would actually start now, because once the baby is born you won't have much time and you'll be really tired.

I usually lose 10 pounds in a month I go to the gym 5 times a day and sometimes in the morning i know that might sound a little too much but thats just how I like to work out and for breakfast I eat egg whites with spinach or sometimes I'll eat some oatmeal then for lunch I don't really get that hungry so I'll eat a 80 cal Greek yogurt with a granola bar and a string cheese for dinner I'll eat salad but instead of using ranch dressing or Italian dressing I use avocado with some chicken breast , corn , cucumbers and carrots. Or sometimes I'll eat steam vegetables you can also eat some chicken breast for dinner it has a lot of protein and is very good for you. Also drink water and eat fruits everyday . Stay away from soda and sugary drinks !! Hopefully this helps and I think you'll be fine good luck !

It could take as little as one month or as long as four years, depending upon how good you kept up you routine during pregnancy. If you continued to excersive, stretch, and do the less strenuous ballet moves throughout you pregnancy, it won't be long because your body will not have lost it's conditioning.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.
1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.
2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.
3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.
These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

Stay fit during pregnancy and it is easier to get your old body back. Breastfeeding also helps bring you back to normal faster and it is excellent for your baby!

It can take up to two years to lose all the baby weight. If you just do nothing. It also depends on your genetics and how fast you lose weight and how good you exercise. I am back down to my pre birth weight and am still losing the weight
