Depends on what you mean by 'better'. A-Rod's numbers are better overall (at a younger age), and if he is inconsistent, so is Jeter. Jeter famed clutch performance is not what it used to be (but it is only June...). So, if you mean numbers, it's A-Rod.

If you mean overall, hands down it's Jeter. His moves in the field are unparalleled, when someone on another team makes a leaping twising catch, the announcers always compare it to Jeters style. Jeter doesn't get angry (where fans can see him, at least) like A-Rod does, and always seems smooth & calm regardless of the situation. He spends tons on charity and is really one of the most beloved figures in NYC. He's a leader, A-Rod isn't.

Jeter. As a Mets fan, I do hold a little bit of anti-Yankee bias...but Jeter is an inifintely better player. A-Rod is a numbers guy...but if you NEED to win, and NEED a hit, or some clutch D, nobody I'd rather have at bat or in the field than Jeter.

Arod is a better player-the numbers and stats speak for theirself. Jeter is more of a clubhouse leader but as far as on the field and what you do, AROD definetly produces more.

at 25 million a year, the top paid player in the entire MLB you would think it would be AROD, but I think it is Jeter! However I prefer, Aramis and Manny Ramirez, yes I know they are not brothers but it did not look right typing Ramirez twice
