Yes, I agree. Torre's corporate management style has run it's course. The guys just do not seem to be having fun anymore. They always seem like guys just going to work, there's no fire. If you look at the rivals, the Mets are having a blast, they're always smiling & laughing, and they're having fun. Same with the Red Sox, especially the 2004 Red Sox, laughing & winning. It's a game, not just a business.

I also agree re Sweet Lou, he would definitely bring some life to the Yankees, there might be some drama (there always is w/Pinella), but he would shake things up. Besides, Steinbrenner always likes hiring people from his past, and Steinbrenner & Lou have the history.

Friggin Yankee fans....you guys should stop whining about the manager and start screaming at the PLAYERS!

Torre is a great manager and would have no problem catching on just about anywhere, yet you want to fire him?

Reminds me of the 1964 World Series. Yogi Berra takes an aging and all but worn out Yankee team to the Series in his first year as manager. They lose in seven games and the Yankees management, unhappy with the way the team was handled, fired Berra.

Then they HIRE the manager of the Cardinals who won he series, Johhny Keane. Then they failed to get back into the series for TWELVE years....

Definetly do not agree, Joe Torre is still a great coach. Are you kidding me, Lou Pinella's CRAZY with a capital C. The Yankees have had a lot of injuries on the team and they're still in second place.

How on earth could you say that Joe Torre is not any good anymore and the Yankees should fire him? He's 65, and that's not old to be managing. He had a great year last year coming back and managing the injuries his team had. Joe Torre is one of the best managers in baseball, and his team loves him, so why would you fire him?

OK, take this however you would like, but coming from a Red Sox fan....You are crazy.

Joe Torre is the best MLB manager at least in the past 20 years (the only reason I do not say 30 is Sparky Anderson).

As a Red Sox fan, my answer is yes....lets get rid of him and that shortstop you have over there. They are both past their prime.

It doesnt matter.

the yankees are now "history"

They will continue to collapse in the 21st Century.

You want to see the yankees win a WORLD Series?

Watch the history channell!!!

Of corse not..... they have injuries, plus with every guy on the team being an all star player...I think they need to step up...he can't hold the bat for them ,,and he can't catch a fly ball in the out field....... thats their jobs...they get paid plenty to do the things that they are paid to do....bu tif they fall short drop a fly ball.....strike out....miss a grounder.........nothing Joe can do....

I think Torre is a solid manager. I'd take him any day.

Why did you put Joe Torre's name in quotes? Are you suggesting he isnt real?

No, he's still a good manager, he just needs better talent.
