...besides Disney World. I wanna go there but no one else does. Everywhere else seems like a logistical nightmare as far as travel, lodging and family activities and such.

I would go with Gatlinburg, TN.-it's a wonderful spot for large groups. You can camp if you like, they have nice accommodations if you prefer a cabin or hotel. Greenbrier Rentals has amazing large cabins at reasonable prices that sleep quite a few people. Lots of activities-something for all ages! Good luck!

It depends on the focus of the gathering. We just came back from renting a 5 BR, 4 bath house in the mountains of Vermont. Our focus was for all of us to get together (from four different states including Hawaii) before my sister shipped out to her second tour of duty in Iraq. Since it isn't ski season, there wasn't a whole lot of touristy things to do, which again, wasn't our focus anyway, but there was restaurants, antiques, glider rides, outlet shopping and the like. We had very little kids with us so that was fine, but with older kids you might want to rent a house on Cape Cod or somewhere where there is more to do. Added benefits are having all the amenities of home, laundry, full kitchen, hot tub, and a beautiful view to share with loved ones.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do!

Why not select a very scenic State Park. You can picnic, cook, sit and visit and play sports and games. I don't see a theme park as a place to encourage people to visit and talk...which I think would be the purpose of a get together or reunion.

Many state parks even have cabins to rent for those who want to stay over but not necessarily do tent camping.

Bar Harbor, Maine would be a great place. Rent some camping trailers, throw the kids in tents, and have a great time. Guaranteed to give everyone time to be with each other rather than get diverted into the garbage of commercialism.
