Either is possible, the missed period being the most common. Some women have continued to have a period-like discharge throughout their pregnancy. It's all very individual just like everything physical.

Good luck to you on your potential motherhood.

Some women get implantation bleeding, but it is actually rare. Only 3-5% of women actually get it. Spotting/bleeding (Red) can be a sign that something is wrong with the pregnancy and that you need to consult your doctor. Women do NOT have true periods while pregnant. The period is the shedding of the unfertilized egg and the lining of the uterus and neither of these occur while pregnant. However, my grandmother bled the first 4 months with my mom and later with my uncle.

It depends on your body if you think you might be then go and get the tests done that is the only way to be absolutely sure, as for the period thing I had a friend that during both her pregnancies still had her period every month

There may be light spotting but no, pregnant women in general will not have periods. Take a pregnancy test or go see your doctor to be sure. Good luck!

Both. You can even be pregnant and still have your period. If you are trying and you think you may be pregnant, take a home pregnancy test first. If it comes up positive, then make appointment with your doctor. My sister took 3 pregnancy test which all came up positive before making a doctor appointment. Good-luck.

You can get a little implantation bleeding 7 to 10 days after conception. It is really just a few drops of blood.

Before you get pregnant, you should have a pap smear and start reading "The Pregnancy Book" by Sears and Sears.

Both happen. But the period usually stops because the walls in the uterus are "doing the pregnancy thing".

Go see a doctor or call a confidential Crisis Pregnancy Center in your area.

The first month there may be some light spotting but after that there shouldn't be any.
All month long your body stores up a bloodcell lining for your little baby-to-be and when there isn't one it sheds the lining (your period) and starts building a new one.
