I'm watching a couple of the guys on So You Think You Can Dance, and there just might be a contender in there. Although he doesn't tap, Dimitri certainly has the grace and the flowing motions.
Of course, we all saw Fred Astaire when he was polished, practiced and mature. When he first started with his sister Adele, we got a number of pans. She was regarded as the better dancer of the two. So it's hard (if not downright unfair) to compare a young, unpolished newcomer with the suave and debonair Astaire.

I've seen a lot of competitors at numerous comps in American Smooth who are like Fred Astaire status!

Savion is the bomb when it comes to tap dancing, but I don't think he has the grace that Fred had. So for me, NO ONE, at this time can compare to Fred Astaire.

I agree with above, prior to his death, Gregory Hines. Currently, I agree also with Savion Glover.

3 years ago I would have said Gregory Hines, but since he is gone also, I would say there is no match!
