One way to communicate is writing a letter. Put all your thoughts in the letter and try to get to the bottom of the issue. If this was your 'best friend' as you say - and he is staying away from you - I guarantee - YOU KNOW WHY. You can't 'fix' it, but you can try and find out what his reasons are. If he refuses after you write a letter - then chalk it up to this person has some serious issues and you might need to give him time to deal with it. If it's true friendship - he'll come back and let you know what's going on. It will be up to you to respond when he comes back around.

Just a thought but could his feelings for you have changed? Sometimes feelings tend to get jumbled up inside where once friendship turns to something a little stronger. Those are confusing and trying times. The best thing to do is to ask him if he has been upset or if he just wants some alone time. Also let him know you will be there to talk to when he is ready.

all relationships either with a boyfriend or a girl that is your friend requires communcation, without that the relationship will fail. It seems like she doesnt care about your feelings at all, like she doesnt care period. My best friend lives all the way in Virginia and we still talk every either call or text, and even when she be busy at the moment she will still talk to me if im feeling really sad or if i am having a real problem that cant wait, or if i need some cheering up and she all the way in VA!!! I would say that you try to get her to commucate with you since yall been friends for 4 years, but it does seem like yall are falling apart and that sometimes happens in a friendship, it is sad to say :(

I've had that happen. I think a mistake is to get overly involved and think I have to fix it. That's just my ego telling me I can control others. I can't.
Just let him do this avoidance thing for now. Friendships are like the tides, it will return.

You should go up and talk to him. How? The usual way before he sarting actign that weird way. Ask him why he's being hostile/giving you the cold shoulder. If you really detest asking him personally, you could ask his best friend. Maybe he'll know.

hey. this happened to me... in highschool she met a new "best friend"... but then she wound up being a bad friend so they don't really talk anymore.... what i did... was i just told her straight forward... like.. r u mad at me or something? cuz we haven't been talking lately.. start it from there.. see what she says... its easier to do on IM or something... even if she does get mad at u [cuz thats what my friend did cuz she thought i was jealous] just keep explaining how u feel and if she/he's a good friend... they'll come back to u.. good luck =]

confront him. it may be scary, but he might be avoiding you because he misunderstood something. you never know. just talk to him about and persist until he tells you what the heck is wrong. don't worry, i am sure that if he is your best friend, he will talk to you.

I would come out and ask them what I did to upset them or make them mad at me. It's the only way to find out.
