its better to maintain the friendship if he likes u as a friend maybe by and by he will realise that he wants more than friendship from u, ok. good luck.

ok if he does not like you then why risk the chance of ruining the friendship. if he just wants to be firends then leave it at that. if your not sure then tell him bc you will never know otherwise. it may make a friendship a little uncomfortable but is it worth it to you.
