Why do people be jealous of you if they suppose to be your friend?

My suppose to be friend thinks I'm perfect all because I'm the head cheerleader. If she was a real friend, she would stick by my side and be a real friend. She wants to fight me so now I dislike her and I don't talk to her anymore, but I'm trying to at least be cool with her. Should I fight her or just be cool with her but not her friend?

some ppl just want what everyone else has no matter what they have. they are never satisfied with anything. i would be cool with her but back off on hanging out. be with her when you have to be. make sure you do not make the situation worse by talking behind her back bc you do not want to return nasty trait for nasty trait.
